Summer Reading
Last year I blogged (a couple of times) about my favorite reads and got lots of response from Learfielders on their favorite books. It's that time again! What are you reading that we might enjoy? Here are mine:
- Bill Bryson: The Mother Tongue is a short read on the English language and how it got that way. I was so impressed, I gave it to all of our reporters.
- Rob Bell: Velvet Elvis A hip book that "repaints the Christian faith."
- Carl Hiaasen: Just pick up any of these funny mysteries before you get on the plane or head out for a road trip. Funny and well-written. He's a columnist for the Miami Harold.

I just finished reading (again) Carl Hiaasen's "Skinny Dip."
I'm now reading "The Most Famous Man in America." The Biography of Henry Ward Beecher, written by Debby Applegate.

If you like a good mystery, Vince Flynn has a series of 5 or 6 books featuring the same character. My husband usually takes weeks to read a book but he read 1 of these in a day!

I highly recommend "Better Dads, Stronger Sons" by Rick Johnson. It really brings to light the importance how fathers can guide boys to become men of character.
Also - just finished reading "never eat alone" - for the second time. Great book - emphasis on the importance of your "network over your networth." Just picked up The Reagan Diaries - by RR. Can't wait! RT
