The Prodigal Sports Director
Former Missourinet Sports Director David Sprague paid a visit to the new newsroom recently. David had to see what he missed by leaving us for the East Coast. We sat him down at what would have been his work station and presented him with his old nameplate. The transition into the new newsroom was underway when David decided he had to follow his bride-to-be, Jess, to Boston.
David now works at WATD Radio in Marshfield, MA, in an area called the South Shore, about 30 miles south of Boston. He says he does a million things there (he always tended to exaggerate), but we do know he writes copy and produces commercials, fills in for some on-air shifts and sells a bit of advertising on the side. David came back with Jess to attend the Missouri football game against Texas A&M and visit with his family in Columbia. An avid Tiger fan, David is stressing over being so far away during one of Mizzou’s greatest seasons.
Our own Bob Priddy, Missourinet’s News Director, has been given an award by the Cole County Historical Society. Bob has been presented the Catherine and Alex Hope Award, the highest award given by the group. A member of the society, Tom Sater, presented the award to Bob on behalf of the society’s board “in recognition of dedication in researching, recording and writing of Jefferson City and Cole County, Missouri, history, providing a means of presenting for future generations the unique and rich heritage of our country.”
