Oops. Daily Email snafu

Subscribers to Missourinet Daily, our email headlines, received an empty "envelope" this morning. We're in the process of converting from an automated send to a manual process (which will give us more editorial control over what you receive) and we "missed the mailman." Tell me when you have had enough postal references. We'll try to get our act together and re-send later this morning.

Missourinet now podcasting

Missourinet news now does a weekly podcast called Press Pass. Bob Priddy and Brent Martin offer a deeper look into the week’s headlines.  If you listen to or watch Missouri news and want more, this podcast is for you.

Last week Bob and Brent provided a behind the scenes look at Governor Blunt’s surprise decision to not run for re-election and talked about what it meant for the Republicans and for Democratic Candidate Jay Nixon.

Look for a weekly update on the Missourinet homepage every Thursday.

Audio of MO Supreme Court Arguments now available

The Missourinet started streaming the oral arguments before the Missouri Supreme Court in late 1999. In addition to the live stream, we archived the arguments.

A few years ago --in an effort to cover some of our expenses-- we adopted a subscription model and maintained that until the court took over the service. They also stream the audio live and archive.

Last week we opened up our archives (no subscription required) and legal professionals --and the public-- have access to more than 800 arguments dating back to 1999.

History of Missouri Agriculture

Bob Priddy was a featured speaker at the Governor's Conference on Agriculture, held this week in St. Louis. Bob's presentation was a "historical perspective" on Missouri agriculture (that would have made my headline too long). You can download and listen to the MP3 file. Runs about 30 min.

Dan Shelley named Director of Digital Media at WCBS-TV

Longtime listeners to The Missourinet might remember hearing reports from Dan Shelley, the (former) longtime news director at KTTS in Springfield.

Shelley has been promoted by WCBS-TV to director of digital media. In this new post, Shelley will oversee all sales and editorial content for WCBSTV.com and the station’s other digital content delivery platforms.

Previously, Shelley served as executive editor of Digital Media for WCBS-TV and WCBSTV.com, where he headed an editorial team that grew traffic more than 300 percent in 2007, compared to 2006. [Springfield News-Leader]
