One of the features of any political gathering is the merchandise for sale. Democrats at Hannibal Days bought a variety of goods both supporting their favorite candidate and vilifying their least favorite (that would be President Bush).
“Button Bob” Levine of Manchester has been selling political buttons for years. He sells both Democratic and Republican buttons, though he’s more of a staple at Democratic events. I spoke with “Button Bob” about what the hot sellers were at Hannibal Days.
A new booth set up at Hannibal Days featured t-shirts with retro presidential slogans. They are sold by restropresident.com of Kansas City, operated by Neil and Julie Swanson. I spoke with Neil about the enterprise.
