Would somebody please answer that

Former Republican Presidential Candidate Mike Huckabee paid a visit to Missouri on Thursday, spending a good portion of the day at Columbia College in Columbia. He met with students and staff for a while, then answered questions from the media, then capped off the visit with an evening speech on the ethics involving health care.

Anyone who has heard Huckabee speak knows the man is a gifted public speaker who is quick with a joke or a smart remark.  The guy knows how to entertain a crowd.

Unfortunately, some of the people attending the event were annoyed, just prior to Huckabee being introduced, when a rather loud cell phone rang ... and rang ... and rang ... and rang.  Interestingly enough, the phone rang ... and rang ... and rang ... and rang just minutes after college officials had asked those in attendance to turn off cell phones so as not to disturb others.  The person whose phone rang ... and rang ... and rang ... and rang was an individual wearing an Obama '08 t-shirt, leading to what appeared to be some dirty looks from some of the patrons who wanted to hear the speech without interruption.

Chatting with a few of the attendees after the event, it was obvious that the loud interruption was not appreciated.  The good news is that the man with the phone left for a minute or two, then returned, with his phone remaining quiet the rest of the evening.

Do you have any experiences with loud cell phones going off ... even after people are politely asked to be considerate of others by turning off the cell phones?  It would be great to hear from you.
