Jack Jackson joins McCain team
Former State Representative Jack Jackson (R-Wildwood) has formally joined the team trying to elect John McCain America's next President. Jackson will serve as Missouri co-chair of the McCain presidential campaign.
The announcement comes from the McCain campaign. It quotes Jackson as saying, of McCain, "John McCain has spent his time in Congress standing up for hard working American taxpayers and reaching across the aisle to get things done. I am grateful for his service to our country and proud to work on his behalf in the state of Missouri."
I ran into Jack at the Republican State Convention in Branson a few weeks ago ... and he told me he expected to be playing a role in the McCain campaign. Now the Vietnam veteran who flew 600 missions in Vietnam, is going to be kept busy trying to secure Missouri's 11 electoral votes for McCain.
The "Colonel" was first elected to the Missouri House in 2002 and served two terms before running, unsuccessfully, for the Republican nomination for State Auditor. He also announced his candidacy for Lieutenant Governor earlier this year ... but pulled out when current Lieutenant Governor Peter Kinder, who had announced he was running for Governor, withdrew and opted, instead, to run for reelection.
