Ready for another boring season of baseball?

Baseball is a boring sport. Sure it can be fun to play it but the idea of spending money on a ticket to watch players make $20 million in a year while standing around with chewing tobacco in their mouthes doesn't sound appealing to me.

Most people say that baseball isn't exciting until the playoffs start. That is because you have too many games in a season, like over 160 is almost a game every day. It is too much for a fan to want to deal with. I mean if you have season tickets to a team it gets really boring after a while. I mean cricket is probably far more exciting.

MLB baseball also isn't as competitive anymore. Look at the leagues with salary caps, NFL and NHL. Any team can win and the NFL has had a cap for a long time and it certainly makes it far more exciting to watch.

NBA surpasses NHL in popularity

Well this might not be real news as the NBA has been far more popular than the NHL for a long time. At one point in the early 1990s it was written that the NHL was more popular and had more value than the NBA in terms of a sports market. So what has changed over the past 20 years?

The simple answer to the question is management. The NHL was managed poorly in the past 20 years while the NBA did a far superior job in this area. NBA teams are worth far more than they have ever been and NHL hockey has clearly taken a back seat on many levels. The NHL had too many problems ranging from player association problems all the way up to the top in terms of how fans are treated and the marketing efforts of the NHL.

Clearly the NHL with Gary Bettman in charge they have done something very wrong. This guy has clearly demonstrated that he doesn't belong in this league. NHL fans should be horrified and boycott hockey to prove their point. With a weak economy NHL teams are at risk of disappearing and become bankrupt. You don't see this problem happening with the NBA!

Pittsburgh Penguins injuries Crosby Malkin

Pittsburgh's season is in jeopardy all because their top 2 star players Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin are both injured. Malkin is done for the season with a torn acl and Crosby has no timetable to return due to his concussion he received at the classic outdoor game against Washington.

Mark Letestu is also injured and out for probably 6 weeks and this means expect Pittsburgh to go on a bit of a losing streak and hope to survive for a playoff position.

Meanwhile Matt Cooke is suspended after injuring more players. It is surprising that this guy is still allowed to march around the league with dangerous hits to the head. Marc Savard's career might be over thanks to Cooke and who knows who will be his next victim.

Where is Tiger Woods 2011?

It is well into 2011 already and Tiger Woods is no longer making any headlines whether it's chasing porn stars, getting clubbed in the head or winning golf tournaments. He just isn't doing anything and has lost the most sponsorship money along the way. Perhaps he should become friends with Kobe Bryant and Michael Vick who have taken reputation hits in their careers but have seemed a way to erase the past with key sports performances.

Does anybody know Chinese astrology because we'd like to know the year of the Tiger, so far it definitely doesn't seem like that year is 2011.
